This article reviews Zaid Adhami, Dilemmas of Authenticity: The American Muslim Crisis of Faith (2025), and Margot Dazey’s Respectable Muslims: Morals and Manners of Minority Citizens in France (2024) to reconstruct the transformation of Islamic theology in the context of Western minorities. Rather than reading these dynamics as a crisis of faith, this article argues that what is happening is a shift in theological mode from normative orthodoxy to performative theology. By bringing together theories of secularism, politics of recognition, and lived religion, this synthesis demonstrates that faith is mediated through social practices and modern citizenship regimes. The experience of minorities thus opens up new conceptual horizons for theology in secular modernity
