The goal of the current study is to investigate the relationship between mindfulness and financial well-being, for which the multiple mediating influences of intrinsic career goals and work need satisfaction are considered in combination with the self-determination theory. To verify the claimed association, a questionnaire study was conducted to gather information from 358 working adults in three under-developed regions of China. The results show that mindfulness positively influenced financial well-being. At the same time, intrinsic career goals and work need satisfaction act as parallel mediators between mindfulness and financial well-being. Nevertheless, the results don’t support the chained mediation from intrinsic career goals to work need satisfaction between mindfulness and financial well-being. Such findings offer insightful recommendations for enhancing financial well-being in the workplace through self-regulation of behaviours
