AbstractThis paper is a synthesis and interpretation of what we know about the Eugui foundry during the reign of Charles II, from its settlement in 1689 by Aldaz. The paper reminds the antecedents of the foundry, explains its relationship with the military needs of the Monarchy and with the «hora navarra», and discusses its significance in the Spanish history of metal industries.
