This work seeks to verify the hypothesis on the functioning as ceramic kiln of the structures excavated in the archeological site of La Cuestecilla (La Rioja), through the construction of replicas and experimentation. Through the analysis of a series of characteristics of the structure and under the premise that physical principles ruling the transference of heat, work similarly at present and in the past, a long term work scheme has been performed to evaluate its capacity for firing ceramic. Different possible variations of the selected structure are presented here, seeking to exhaust each functioning possibility with other secondary variants
