Anahtar kelimeler: Osmanlı, kalem işi, İstanbul tasvirleri, kız kulesi Abstract A contemporary look at the Maiden's Tower in Ottoman books and buildings, which we miss due to the restoration, revealed quite different depictions of Istanbul, each of which bore traces of several hands and eyes. This study examined the Maiden's Tower depictions in those embroideries, which had a long history and spread over a broad region in the Ottoman Empire. The figures were assessed in terms of design, technique, and reality and categorized under the headings of topographic urban depictions, hand-drawn illustrations, and wall paintings of Istanbul. The chronological changes in those figures were also described in this endeavor. Just like any attempt to describe an artwork's imaginary and realistic aspects, our primary intention was to depict the Maiden's Tower, a unique and inspirational symbol of Istanbul, with its artistic reality and beauty. Keywords: Ottoman, hand-drawn artwork, Istanbul depictions, Maiden's Tower
