This study investigates how the expansion of digital accommodation platforms affects labour formalisation in Cartagena, Santa Marta, and San Andrés between 2019 and 2024. Using nationally representative microdata and a difference-in-differences approach, the analysis identifies consistent declines in social security affiliation in high-platform-density areas. Mediation models indicate indirect effects through transitions to informal employment, wage reductions, and shifts to part-time work. While causality cannot be definitively established, the findings are robust and contextually grounded. City-level differences highlight the relevance of institutional capacity and urban labour structures for policy design in platform-regulated economies
