This study explores the multidimensional memorable rural tourism experience (MRTE) and further examines the relationship between MRTE and tourist well-being. Findings were drawn from a mixed-method approach, which included thematic analysis and PLS-SEM. Study 1 identifies seven dimensions and 27 items for measuring MRTE. Study 2 shows that memorable hedonism, novelty, involvement, local culture, knowledge, and meaningfulness of rural experience could significantly influence tourist hedonic and eudaimonic well-being, while perceived refreshment only significantly influences tourist hedonic well-being, as it does not come out as significant to predict eudaimonic well-being. Moreover, rural tourists' hedonic well-being positively influences tourist eudaimonic well-being. This study contributes to a better understanding of MRTE and tourist well-being in rural tourism. It also provides meaningful guidelines for rural destination management organisations
