The paper examines the effect of dancing to Chinese classical music on people’s emotional state. A total of 140 persons took part in the experiment. The respondents’ ages ranged from 18 to 35 years. The research findings suggested that the participants ‘well-being’ improved by 2.6 points. ‘Activity’ increased by 2.5 points. The ‘mood’ criterion increased by 2.8 points. On the emotional state scale, the initial average values increased to high values. A 15-point decrease in the Beck Depression Inventory was observed. A control group was also included in the study. Participants in the control group continued their regular lives without any additional stimuli or interventions related to the research. This allowed us to determine whether any changes in emotional states, levels of depression, and anxiety observed in the experimental groups were the result of dance improvisation specifically and not influenced by other factors or the natural development of these indicators over time. The findings recognize the effectiveness of this technique for the stabilization of the emotional state. From a practical standpoint, the method of dance improvisation can be used as an elective in schools and universities to reduce the effects of stress and negative emotions
