Population aging in Brazil is unfolding primarily in urban areas. As individuals grow older, their mobility tends to become limited to the home and its surroundings. Considering the paradigm of aging in place, this exploratory study examines the mobility, accessibility, and walkability of older adults at the neighborhood level in the city of Campinas, state of São Paulo. The study is based on walking interviews combined with maps, photographs, GPS tracking, and field observation. Qualitative findings align with the existing literature, suggesting that personal factors such as gender, income, skin color, and age, as well as availability of destinations, access to public transportation or private vehicles, safety, social interaction, land-use diversity, and aesthetic aspects influence older adults’ daily mobility and overall quality of life
