This article is concerned with the intermedial relationship among an embroidered piece attributed to Maria Doroteia, the embroidered dress of the cover art by Julia Panadés, the poetry of Tomás Antônio Gonzaga, and the poetic prose of Ruth Silviano Brandão. Therefore, the objective is to point out the relationship between paratextual elements, according to Gérard Genette (2009), and the interplay between the textile text of Maria Doroteia's embroidery and Brandão's poetic-prose, based on Irina Rajewsky (2012) intermedial references
