Temporalizar la mediatización

Los intentos de darle a la mediatización su sustento en el tiempo han exhibido generalmente dos orientaciones temporales distintas. En un sentido, hay estudios indispensables sobre la historicidad de los procesos de mediatización que indagan las transformaciones de larga duración. En el sentido opuesto, los medios se consideran como agentes de aceleración social que apresuran el colapso de la distanciación tiempo-espacio. Lo que en gran medida desaparece sin ser notado son las múltiples estructuras y experiencias temporales que caracterizan el vínculo de la gente con las tecnologías y textos mediáticos. Este trabajo invita a los investigadores a reenfocar su atención en las prácticas de andamiaje temporal [temporal scaffolding] a través de las cuales se configura el potencial temporalizado de los dispositivos comunicativos, programas y servicios mediáticos. Hacerlo nos ayudará a lograr una comprensión más témporoalfabetizada de la mediatización como un cambio fundamental pero multifacético de la actividad humana, las instituciones sociales y la expresión cultural
