This paper tackles the semioticstylistic procedures which allow the construction of a conscious, free-moving and irenic concept of alterity. The resulting hybridity would be the manifestation of a transcultural identity, which the author proposes as an alternative to the nonconcessive rejection of otherness. The hybridization of identities and of narratives will be analyzed using the concept of intermediality. This concept feeds on and at the same transcends Gennette's concept of trans-textuality, by englobing image, sound and chorographical rhythms. We investigate the mingling of linguistical structures and language systems (French, Arabic, Italian, etc.), enriched with symbolic topics and intertextual references
