The objective of this research was to quantify the contribution of the Mexican meat industry to the national GDP, as well as to calculate the average annual growth rate (TMCA) during the period (28 years), as well as the last four six-year periods and to determine the contribution to the manufacturing industry. The methodology was use of a documentary type with the following stages: i) Selection of the subject to study, ii) Collection of information from secondary documentary sources, which was fundamentally from the National Accounts of INEGI, iii), Preparation of the research plan, iv) Organization of the information, for which the INEGI Industrial Classification System of North America (SCIAN) was used and v) Use of the statistical function, which for the case was the TMCA. It was found that the meat industry presented a positive trend throughout the period, with a TMCA of 2.59% and with a parallel with the manufacturing industry, which is the sector that includes the meat industry. The meat industry had on average (28 years) of 0.81% in the national GDP and its importance scales to 4.78% of the manufacturing industry and reach just over a fifth (21.68%) in the food industry, finally the industry of meat is an essential part of the basic food basket of the Mexico people
