Uncertain Art: Improvisation and Resistance in Dance and Painting AbstractThis article stems from a dialogue between two creators –a dancer and a painter– who find in their artistic processes a form of resistance to institutionalized art. Improvised dance and painting are proposed here as territories of authenticity, risk, and freedom. Through a reflexive autoethnographic approach and a philosophical analysis of the creative act, the authors introduce the concepts of moment of creation/suspension and an epistemology of living art, understood as modes of knowledge that arise from gesture and states of being. These notions reveal how the creative act articulates time, memory, and lived experience, challenging the imperative of technical perfection. In this way, painting and dance converge as practices of aesthetic resistance and radical presence: a way of thinking and existing through movement and trace.
