Background. The article is devoted to a critical review of linguistic research by Ukrainian and foreign scholars, representing changes in the linguistic landscape of Ukraine during the Russian-Ukrainian war of 2022–2025. The war activated the internal processes of self-development and self-organization inherent in language; language became the "key to understanding the armed conflict", verbalizing changes in the ideological ideas of Ukrainians, in the mental potential of their worldview, "absorbing" new lexical and stylistic resources, tuned to express the realities of the war, filling it with new meanings and assessments of reality. Methods. The research uses both general scientific and linguistic methods, in particular: analysis and synthesis; contextual analysis; descriptive, functional methods; as well as the method of direct components. Results. The conceptual apparatus of war linguistics has not yet been formed, although the "language creation" of this period has been studied from various aspects. The inappropriateness of using the term war language in a narrow sense as a language of violence, intolerance and hatred, which actually identifies it with the language of hostility, as well as in a very broad sense – to denote a number of linguistic patterns of militarization of the language system through the neutralization of words related to the lexical-semantic field "War" is emphasized. The idea of considering the language of war as a holistic linguistic landscape that was formed during, under the influence of, or in the context of war and is preserved in the language, cultural monuments and memory of the people is supported. The multi-vector nature of approaches to revealing the results of the dynamics of the Ukrainian lexicon under the influence of Russian aggression against Ukraine has been demonstrated. The extralinguistic reasons for the emergence of neologisms are considered and the negative connotation of war neologisms is emphasized. Conclusions. It is time to update the expansion of the theoretical and methodological tools for studying the language of war, overcoming the crisis of unnaming, silencing in the language of this period. In the future, it is worth exploring the role of the figure of silence, analyzing how the silenced "speaks", describing the role of lacunae as an element of understanding the horror of the war environment. It is also worth considering internal migration as an additional catalyst for the dynamics of the Ukrainian language in the future
