This paper is devoted to the main objectives of the studies of burials in the mountains of Noin-Ula in 1924–1935. Through accounting and curator’s documentation and materials from laboratory treatment, the most urgent at the period under consideration scientific and organizational problems were identified concerning the study, restora- tion, keeping and popularization of this unique archaeological complex. The present decade has resulted in the comple- tion of the restoration of a considerable part of the collection, scientific publication of the most interesting finds, as well as the decision on the place of the permanent housing of the collection. One of the most important tasks has remained unsolved: the complete publication of the materials of the Mongolia-Tibetan expedition
