“Novos rostos de Marx”

In the present article, we propose a debate around Marcello Musto's Karl Marx: biografia intelectual e poltica (1857-1883) (2023), with the aim of shedding light on the real and historical Marx, emphasizing the importance of understanding his work in its entirety and from its genesis, structure, and function.Considering the resurgence of discussions about the status of Marxian thought, driven by the digital availability of the unpublished notebooks of the "late Marx" in the Marx-Engels Gesamtausgabe (Mega), we seek, based on Musto, to present "new faces of Marx," highlighting the connection between the development of the critique of political economy, his involvement in social movements, and his late writings.Finally, a dialogue is established with some of the current interpretive tendencies that discuss the possible different phases existing within the author's mature thought
