This research is about the initial results of a research project funded by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the Araucária Foundation. The purpose of this manuscript is to present a reflection on the alternatives found by a training course in Environmental Education and Climate Emergency in an effort to overcome some of the weaknesses identified in the approach to the Climate Emergency. It also presents the developments of this course as possibilities for the advancement of the field of Environmental Education in Brazil. Epistemologically, the course was based on a critical and complex perspective. It received 871 registrations from 24 Brazilian states, as well as participants from other countries. We believe that this research made efforts to give voice to alternatives that can contribute to the commitment of society in the face of the Climate Emergency.
