Short Stories from You Like It Darker by S. King: Mysticism and Reality. The article examines specifics of the literary movement of magical / mystical realism, presents its characteristic features. The material for the study is short stories from the collection You Like It Darker by a famous American writer Stephen King. The purpose of the article is to identify mystical and realistic principles, consider different types of their interaction and variants of interpreting them in these stories. The leading method is interpretative analysis, which has allowed us to consider the implementation of these principles. The relevance of the work is due to the need of studying various genre modifications in contemporary prose. The analysis has shown that in this collection four groups of short stories can be distinguished according to real / mystical principle: realistic stories; mystical stories; stories that combine both principles; stories in which the subject of description can be attributed to either principle. In all cases, perception and interpretation of the events described are determined by the subjective attitude of the reader
