The article discusses the problem of choosing an adaptation strategy for transmigrants in a new living space. The expediency and methodological productivity of the transnationalism concept as an actual approach to the study of migration in the modern world is analyzed and substantiated. The research question is to identify the dominant types of adaptation strategies among Russian-speaking transmigrants and their impact on identity transformation. An empirical study conducted as part of a qualitative approach in May 2024 has led to a number of conclusions. The main research method is a semi-structured interview. The sample design is determined by the following criteria: country of origin, migration experience, ethnicity, level of education at the time of emigration. The case study is made up of Russian-speaking transmigrators with more than 4 years of migration experience, representatives of the intelligentsia. The theoretical framework of the study is represented by the concept of transnationalism by N. Glick-Schiller and the concept of acculturation strategies by J. Berry. As a result of the conducted empirical research, based on the stated conceptual framework, it has become possible to identify the dominant type of adaptation strategy – integration – and its impact on the formation of a new type of identity of migrants, which is transnational identity. The features of reproduction of this type of identity and its influence on the construction of the social picture of the world are considered. The research perspective suggests expanding the empirical base by increasing the sample size and using additional research methods to study the impact of the transnational migration experience on the values of transmigrants and their impact on the socio-cultural space of their native country
