In this paper a distinction is made between social control, which is the restraint exercised by the social group upon wayward individuals, and presupposes existing standards of conducts and morals, and social morale which implies social integration, social discipline, social stability, and the conservation of all real social values. This question of social morale, social health, social stability, and the conservation of values is just now the question of supreme importance in sociology. Now, this paper discusses the forces upon which we must depend for this social morale in the approaching era of internationalism-where war and group rivalry are presumably to be absent
