The landscapes in the series “Rojst” have an intricate composition, as they are saturated with meanings brought out by the presentation of successive decades (1980s, 1990s, millennium and numerous flashbacks). The titular rojst [bogland; mire], a landscape of entangled swampy roots, branches and wild bushes, conceals the memory of past events and becomes a source of both narrative and meaning. It thus fits into the category of dramatic landscape (a term coined by André Gardies), which is part of discursive strategies and which unfolds the drama of subsequent episodes. The described landscape is strictly cinematic, a space construed but without its real designator. This strategy, however, renders it universal, undefined by the topography of the map. It is noteworthy that the components of natural landscape in the series influence the human body and senses, engaging in the formation of individual and collective memory
