Justice and Development Party (AK Party) launched many political initiatives in the Turkish political life. One of them is Mukhtars Meeting. This study analyzes why these meetings were required and which topics they addressed in terms of its content with populism paradigm. It is still relevant to ask what is the political purpose of Presidency to invite mukhtars from different provinces for the first time. This study also addresses whether it has an administrative purpose over the duties of mukhtars along with its political purpose. We will further deal with the purpose of these meetings to constitute legitimacy for AK Party ideology with the start of implementing Party-Member Presidency model in the Turkish political life
