This article classifies the Amorfino love verses and considers their function and poetics. Within the collection of Montubian love couplets or songs, this proposal presents an innovative division by virtue of its rhetorical sense and taking into account the pragmatics that this traditional lyric had in games of wheel and falling in love. The corpus gathered, thanks to notebooks of verseras (from informants), has served for the registration and classification of dozens of unpublished couplets. From initial global classifications of love verses, the study organizes a category of courtship verses. Before this study, the concept and reality of the lyrical subgenre are analyzed in context and the symbols that appear in the types of quatrains are briefly analyzed. Finally, the stanzas are presented in their different sections: Declaration, Union, Search or presumption, Exaltation of beauty and The pleasure of the kiss
