The paper addresses occurrences of the Do It Yourself ethos (related to punk rock) in Santa Gertrudes city in early 1980’s. It is argued that traces of a “feeling” (Raymond Williams) of the period can be identified by relating practices of punk rockers in world metropolises with those conducted by residents of that small city (located at the Brazilian State of São Paulo), establishing what is considered in the paper as a shared fury. Such fury would contribute to overcoming difficulties in accessing content starting from the production and distribution of “material culture” (Daniel Miller), and with the establishment of a local musical band: these two aspects seem to enable the inclusion of Santa Gertrudans in the “imagined community” (Benedict Anderson) of punk rock
