The focus of interest, the mediums of expression, and the types of "evidence" acceptable in support of an affirmation are three important elements to consider when we wish to analyze the thought-forms of a culture epoch. The question of the scientific validity of a theory is distinct from this. Its criteria are consistency and validity of premises, logical coherence and demonstrability, meaning a specifically delimited set of data which will validate or invalidate the theory under conditions set forth within the hypothesis
