The article is devoted to identifying the degree of stability of the national linguistic worldview, language consciousness in bilingualism using the example of Buryat-Russian bilingualism. For the first time, an associative experiment was used to analyze basic national-cultural concepts. The aim of the article is to identify universal and national-specific components of the associative fields of concepts hünehen “soul” and zürkhen “heart” in the Buryat linguistic culture. The main tasks to achieve the aim were: compiling a linguistic test, qualitative organization and survey among Buryat bilinguals, comparative analysis of the obtained material. The work uses the principles of consistency and complexity, testing, the main one is a comparative analysis, which is carried out on the basis of an associative experiment conducted in Buryat and Russian among Buryat bilinguals and comparison with the data in the Russian Associative Dictionary (RAD). The results demonstrate the universal nature of the key ethical categories analyzed. Differential traits in the structure and content of both associative fields manifested themselves in a combination of linguistic and extra-linguistic factors, the nature of the linguistic and mental mechanisms of the relation of stimulus and response, and the different hierarchicity and dynamism of the language components. The content of the Russian-language associative field (AF) hünehen “soul” of Buryat bilinguals turned out to be closer to the content of the AF in their native Buryat language, and the associative field zürkhen “heart” – to the associative field of the RAD
