In 2018, a «hoard» of ancient agricultural items discovered near the village of Pozhnia was transferred to the Sumy Regional Museum of Local History. It consisted of a coulter with a socketed fastening and three gorbusha scythes (a scythe with a special type of fastening; one of them with a ring for fastening). Such coulters are still rare, and their findings are known only from Slavic sites of three archaeological cultures: Borshevo, Volyntseve-Romny, and Raiky cultures. Through the comparative analysis of similar materials from the cultural and chronological context, it has been established that this hoard belongs to the Volyntseve-Romny antiquities. The tools were reconstructed in detail using a wide range of analogies, archaeological, iconographic, and ethnographic data. The coulter could be used with the most advanced type 5 plow (a curved plow with a plowshare reinforced with an iron blade and placed horizontally to the ground, a coulter, and a moldboard). The use of a socketed fastener probably indicates that the tool has had some kind of repair. Gorbusha scythes belonged to short scythes or semi-scythes, in which the blade was fixed to small handles with a metal or elastic fastener, with the possibility of adjusting the angle between the handle and the blade. Currently, the Pozhnia hoard is only the fifth find of this kind in the area where Volyntseve-Romny sites are distributed: Hlukhiv, Zhernovets, between the villages of Sugrove and Nyzhni Derevenky, and possibly Khytci. By analogy with the cultural and chronological context of similar hiding places, it should be recognized as a purely domestic temporary deposit for storing property, carried out outside the site. Detailed interpretation of such material (non-valuable) deposits requires the creation of the most comprehensive catalog for Eastern Europe
