This article seeks to provide an overview of the discussion about the Brazilian National Museum Policy, launched in 2003 and presented at our academic and scientific events of the cultural policy sector. On the 20th anniversary of this Policy, we analyzed its presence at ENECULT - Encontro de Estudos Multidisciplinares em Cultura, held by the Universidade Federal da Bahia. We gathered information from the authors who wrote about the Policy and what they said about it over the 19 editions of that event in order to better understand its scope on the national scene
