The present work addresses skateboarding as the subject of a pedagogical intervention in a state public school during the final years of elementary education in the municipality of Cuiabá/MT, in collaboration with the Physical Education Institutional Scholarship Program (PIBID) of the School of Physical Education at the Federal University of Mato Grosso, Campus Cuiabá. The pedagogical practices of this process were documented in a portfolio by PIBID scholars, in which the lived and developed experiences were narrated. Some highlights of this scenario were emphasized in the text: a) the students' involvement/interest in the sport of skateboarding; b) the participation of women in adventure sports, especially skateboarding in Brazil; c) the public spaces in the municipality of Cuiabá-MT for sports and leisure activities related to skateboarding. Students perceive the school as a space for learning and practicing skateboarding, and in the city of Cuiabá, there is a need to provide public leisure spaces that embrace and encourage creative alternatives, such as those highlighted by skateboarding, with specific equipment for its sport, making its use accessible and promoting the dissemination of its multiple bodily expressions and cultural interactions
