This paper examines some of the punitive typologies applied to women who committed adultery in the Kingdom of Castile. Through the analysis of unpublished 15th-century documentary sources, the nature of the sanctions will be explored, which could include corporal punishment, imprisonment, and even the death penalty, as well as how the medieval legal system reinforced class and power hierarchies between men and women. In this way, the study aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the dynamics and intersections of power, justice, and gender in medieval society, highlighting the centrality of female adultery as a crime of particular severity within the moral order of the time
