Peculiarities of its geographical location and a unique natural resource base make Siberia a strategically important region not only in terms of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation, but also in terms of ensuring national security of the state as a whole. The development of Siberia’s natural resources with the use of innovative technologies is potentially able to bring the region to a new level of development, turning it into a locomotive of the Russian economy. However, at the present stage, the implementation of these tasks is largely hampered by a shortage of labor resources caused by the decline in the demographic potential of Siberia, which has been observed throughout the post-Soviet period. The migration outflow of the population from the region plays the decisive role in the formation of these negative trends. In view of this, analyzing trends in the development of migration processes in order to identify priority approaches to their regulation is of particular relevance
