This paper aims to present the female writer Dinorath do Valle and her literature (her first book being published on the seventies) in an introductory manner.With this purpose in mind, we present information about the author's path and the sparse criticism made about her work.For that, we present some observations about the literature written by women based on studies from authors such as Heloísa Buarque de Hollanda ( 2016), Nelly Novaes Coelho (1993 and 2002) and Lúcia Osana Zolin (2004).After that, we make an interpretative reading of two short-stories, both from the book O vestido amarelo.The short stories selected were Amadeu and Casas.We aim, through that, to show how Dinorath do Valle, even
