In this essay, we focus on how epistemic sensibilities and the rumors of science emerge as theoretical-methodological responses to the impasses posed by contemporaneity. On the one hand, we emphasize the co-presence of the researcher's epistemic experience within their text, underscoring the need to acknowledge the role of the body, history, and affect in the production of knowledge. On the other hand, we highlight the urgency of understanding how the digital reconfigures both archives and subjects, functioning as a space where science is continuously interpellated by rumor—by the intermingling of voices, the acceleration of meaning, and the disputes between the institutional and the ordinary. Confronting the demands of objectivity allows us to argue that scientific practice in Discourse Analysis, particularly in its critical strand, challenges academic structures by incorporating narratives that confront the coloniality of knowledge
