This article explores the application of cultural mediation and theater in the metaverse in an academic context using a qualitative approach, analyzing how these practices can enrich teaching and teacher training. The focus is on digital interaction between artists and audiences, using immersive technologies to expand educational and cultural possibilities, in a proposal for cultural mediation that dialogues with the collection of the Maranhão Railway and Port Museum. The theoretical references involve studies on cultural mediation, digital culture, and the potential of the metaverse in higher education
