Jennifer Egan’s A Visit from the Goon Squad won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for fiction, which was one of the most innovative experimental novels in contemporary American literature. The book is full of fragmentation and disorder, which needs readers to collage out the integrity of the whole story. This paper attempts to analyze how the technique “collage” constructs a complete story in the end, showing slices of different time periods occurring between the late 1970s and the 2020s
