Research objective: The aim of the study is to present an interdisciplinary approach to the treatment of multiple gingival recessions using the coronally advanced flap technique combined with gingival augmentation, serving as preparation for orthodontic therapy. Methodology: A clinical case was described in which gingival recessions were treated with mucogingival surgery using the Zucchelli technique. The procedure included a coronally advanced flap and a subepithelial connective tissue graft, considering the patient’s thin periodontal biotype and classification of recessions according to the Cairo system. Main conclusions: Gingival augmentation prior to orthodontic treatment can effectively reduce the risk of further soft tissue loss. The applied surgical technique enabled satisfactory root coverage and improved gingival thickness, providing a stable foundation for further orthodontic therapy. Application of the study: The presented approach can be applied in patients with thin gingival biotype and multiple recessions who are qualified for orthodontic treatment. It emphasizes the importance of proper planning in interdisciplinary treatment involving both periodontology and orthodontics. Originality/Novelty of the study: This case report highlights the importance of pre-orthodontic periodontal preparation using the Zucchelli technique in patients with high risk of soft tissue loss, demonstrating a successful integration of periodontal plastic surgery into orthodontic treatment planning
