The article deals with the specifics of Nigerian English-language media discourse in relation to British media discourse using the example of the English-language Nigerian online newspaper Punch. It is proved that Nigerian English-speaking media discourse has a number of unique features: a limited list of thematic headings; a small volume of published articles accompanied by a rich audiovisual series marking ethnic identity; a high degree of the English language adaptation to the structure of autochthonous languages, which is manifested, among other levels, in morphology. Morphological transformation processes of content words prevail and manifest in the simplification of verb forms, reduplication of pronouns, deviation from the grammatical norm of British English in the formation of singular and plural nouns and degrees of comparison of adjectives and adverbs. Morphological transformation processes of functional words are reflected in the omission of articles and the use of prepositions. The causes of morphological manifestations are the dominant influence of autochthonous languages and an insufficient level of education
