Anna Szymańska-Kwiatkowska was the editor-in-chief of the weekly “Woman and Life” in the years 1986–1990, when it was second or third among the most-read magazines in Poland. She managed the editorial office in the period of the political transformation and transformations of the media system, and maintained interest in the magazine, despite the drastic increase in its price. Thanks to the involvement of the editorial office of “Woman and Life”, she was appointed a deputy in 1989 on behalf of the Polish United Workers’ Party. The aim of the research was to present a portrait of a journalist and editor-in-chief of “Woman and Life”
