The subject of the study is the structural-semantic, pragmatic, and constructional features of sentences with subject-predicative predicates in modern Chinese. The focus is on syntactic constructions of the model S1 + (S2 + P), in which the external thematic component correlates with the internal subject-predicative group. The study examines ways of expressing belonging, characteristics, states, evaluations, and relationships between the components of the construction, as well as the features of the communicative organization of such sentences. Special attention is given to how these constructions function in speech, what semantic and pragmatic constraints determine their use, and how they can be interpreted from the perspective of construction grammar. The aim of the research is to identify and describe these features in the context of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The methodological foundation of the research consists of descriptive, inductive, structural-semantic, and functional-pragmatic methods, as well as elements of construction analysis and syntactic modeling. During the study, six main structural-semantic types of sentences with subject-predicative predicates in modern Chinese have been identified. Syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic constraints on their functioning have been revealed, as well as the dependence of the interpretation of these constructions on the relationship between the thematic component, the internal subject, and the predicative group. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the comprehensive application of construction grammar to the analysis and didactic interpretation of sentences with subject-predicative predicates. The productivity of using a teaching methodology based on language blocks has been justified, allowing for the presentation of complex syntactic models as stable formal-semantic units. The results obtained can be used in the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, in the development of educational materials, and in the further description of syntactic constructions of modern Chinese
