Legal translation is one of the types of specialized translation, aimed at conveying various written and oral legal documents into another language. In the process of translating legal texts, the accurate transmission of information is not only an important stylistic characteristic but also an indicator of the translator's quality of work. In this context, the translation of homogeneous members – synonyms – poses particular challenges for the translator, as such constructions can be synonymous but may denote different concepts, for which there may not always be an equivalent in the target language. Thus, the object of this study is the phenomenon of synonymy in legal texts, while the subject of the study is synonymous series as a specific case of synonymy manifestation. The methodology of the research includes a set of linguistic methods: lexical and semantic analysis is used for the identification and selection of synonymous series; contextual analysis is employed to reveal the specifics of the use of synonymous series in legal documents; comparative and structural-semantic analysis has also been applied. The results of the research may contribute to the development of new methodological approaches to translation training, which will enhance the quality of training specialists in this field. It is important to note that the application of the data obtained may improve the understanding of the specific terminology and phraseology characteristic of modern legal texts, which, in turn, will help avoid common mistakes in translation. Furthermore, the results can be used for creating educational materials and manuals for professionally oriented translation, making the learning process more effective and accessible for students. The practical significance of this research extends beyond the academic environment, encompassing broad spheres of professional activity and contributing to the improvement of the quality of legal document translation and the enhancement of legal literacy among translators
