This research note invites to reflect on how biophilic design, the incorporation of natural elements and processes into the built environment, could be applied in the hospitality sector. In this research note, biophilic design and regenerative development form a complementary framework, with biophilic design serving as a catalyst for regenerative development. Although regenerative development is rapidly spreading to the tourism and hospitality sectors in Finland, biophilic design in hospitality businesses is guided by market logic based on the needs of customers and companies. Thus, integrating systems thinking into biophilic design in the hospitality sector requires greater ecological ambition and a balance between the economy, nature, and people
