The study presented aims to inventory the artisans' associations in Currais Novos/RN, identifying possibilities for the appropriation of handicrafts by tourist activities. It uses the concepts of culture, crafts and tourism, related from artisans' associations. The methodology uses bibliographical research, cultural inventory and technical visits to associations located in the municipality. In general, the results indicate the existence of four associations in Currais Novos, which have a predominance of female artisans. Furthermore, the associations are divided into two physical spaces for marketing, which offer products related to local culture. Therefore, in addition to their cultural relevance, associations have economic importance, with the potential to be mobilized by tourist activities
