This article proposes an analysis of the work and representation of Brazilian Black women, highlighting the complex experiences of female characters in the novels Água de Barrela (2016) and Solitária (2022) by Eliana Alves Cruz. Both works explore the intersections of racism and sexism, portraying women who face structural oppression while balancing the demands of work and family life. These characters, marked by pain and historical violence, also exemplify resilience and resistance, challenging imposed social roles and creating strategies for survival and empowerment. The main objective is to examine how Eliana Alves Cruz constructs the multiple dimensions of these women, emphasizing their humanity and strength. Thus, the aim is to understand how these literary figures transcend the barriers imposed by gender and racial oppression, redefining their personal and collective narratives
