This article aims to explore, through the analysis of the poems “Vida difícil com a memória” (Um amor feliz, 2016), “Enfim a memória” and “Conchavos com os mortos” (Para o meu coração num domingo, 2020), the memoration of the dead and its dreamlike features in the poetry of Polish writer Wisława Szymborska. The analysis is based on different concepts and studies about memory and on the contributions of Jungian analytical psychology focused on the symbolic nature of dreams. By establishing a dialogue between memory and dreams, it is possible to understand how the dream world enables contact with the dead in Szymborskian poetry
