Introduction: Beauty standards can be identified at various times in history and are changed according to the values and beliefs in force at the time. Currently, such ideals find in cyberspace the tools for controlling and implementing standards through social networks. Objectives: To identify social representations of female beauty and their relationships with the content of the social network Instagram based on the experience of women who use this social network. Method: Interviews were conducted with 10 participants aged between 18 and 59, Instagram users, invited through social networks and the snowball technique. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews, guided by a script previously prepared considering the objectives of this study, authorized by the Ethics Committee of UFES. Data were analyzed through Bardin's categorical/thematic analysis proposal. Results: A social representation of body and beauty was indicated that encompasses subjective elements (sympathy and delicacy) and objective elements (body in shape), which guides feminine practices. Conclusion: Although there is inclusion of subjective aspects in social representations about the body and female beauty, this does not mean attribution of lesser value to physical aspects of the body (objective issues), demonstrating a coexistence of these elements, which may be related to the process of valuing different beauties encouraged mainly by feminist movements, which could be better explored in other investigations
