Introduction: Suicide is the deliberate and intentional act of causing death to oneself. Suicidal behavior, in turn, encompasses thoughts of self-destruction, suicide attempts, and suicide, regardless of the level of lethal intent. The Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS) are mental health services that receive, care for, and treat patients at higher risk of suicide. Objectives: This scoping review aimed to analyze the national production regarding the attention to suicidal behavior provided by CAPS in Brazil between the years 2001-2022. Method: The research was conducted on the following databases: SciELO, PePSIC, LILACS, MEDLINE (PubMed), Redalyc and BDENF. Out of 386 studies found, 7 met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The results showed that CAPS play a strategic role in suicide prevention and care, acting directly with the patient or organizing and intervening in their support networks. The role of these services facing this issue manifested itself in different offers: welcoming (reception), qualified listening, individual appointments, medical evaluation, medication prescription, group activities/support groups, active search, home visits, family care, and postvention support for the bereaved. The interdisciplinary work, intra and intersectoriality, humanization, and therapeutic bonding were shown as necessary premises for work organization and better care quality for patients. Conclusion: Further research in all CAPS modalities is suggested, in different regions of the country, as well as in the future, in order to evaluate possible consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health services
