The article examines the philosophical and doctrinal foundations of President Donald Trump's foreign policy. The author analyzes the key narratives presented in scholarly literature and media publications. Among the most common concepts that define the vector of Trump's foreign policy thought and practice are "isolationism," "realism," "Jacksonianism," and "conservatism." The content of these concepts and their various interpretations are identified. Particular attention is paid to the key ideas of the report "Mandate for Leadership. The Conservative Promise. Project 2025," published in 2023 by the Heritage Foundation. This material served as a kind of pre-election directive for the Republican candidate from conservative-minded members of the US political and academic community. Many of the report's authors had close ties to the first Trump administration, and some were later invited to serve in his new administration. The author analyzes the report's ideological component and compares its key foreign policy theses with the US president's actions on the global stage. The author substantiates the conclusion that the ideology of conservatism can rightfully be considered as the basis of Trump’s doctrine. Its defining characteristics, according to the author, are an anti-globalist stance and an appeal to traditional American values and institutions, which the president views as the foundation for maintaining America’s superpower status. Trump's actual actions are characterized by his "hypernationalist" approach to all challenges in global politics, an unequivocal rejection of Wilsonian priorities of "utopian globalism," unilateralism, and a desire to involve the US in specific international issues solely for the sake of "American benefit." A significant portion of these foreign policy priorities of Trump were, to varying degrees, reflected in the 2023 report, demonstrating the close connection between his ideological leanings and the goals of conservative circles within the American political and academic establishment
