This paper presents the results of the analysis of the bone remains from the Yamnaya culture population (Early Bronze Age), obtained from the study of the burial mounds in the Republic of Kalmykia in the period from 1976 to 2002. According to craniological data, the population inhabiting the Lower Volga region during the Early Bronze Age belonged to the proto-Europoid type, characterized by a sharply profiled face and a strongly protruding nose. Dolichocranic skulls predominate. The study was conducted on 42 skeletons with varying degrees of bone preservation. The femoral and tibial bones of males are noted for their moderate robusticity. The average body length for Yamnaya culture males was 172.2 cm, and for females, it was 155.9 cm. The studied group is characterized as tall and moderate robusticity
