Introduction. This paper analyzes bone remains from a unique case of tibia amputation. The purpose of this study is an anthropological analysis of a rare skeletal case with intravital lower limb amputation. Methods and materials. The study was carried out according to a comprehensive anthropological program, including: traditional anthropological methods, recording markers of stress and traumatic injuries. The material for the study was a female individual of the Golden Horde era from the Khar-Zukha-1 burial ground (mound 3, burial 1), who survived the process of amputation of the lower leg and lived for some time after it. Results. The work was carried out in several directions: compilation of anthropological characteristics of bone remains; identification and description of skeletal injuries, recording markers of physiological stress. In addition, a comparative analysis was carried out with the Golden Horde burial ground Natukhaevsky 5. Similarities and differences in the female series were studied.
